Privacy Policy (Sept 2015 Version 1)

The VSE Privacy Policy applies to any and all personal information gathered by VSE from any prospective and actual customers of the company through the medium of the VSE website (termed as ‘the Website’ below) or other marketing channels (such as; Email, Telephone, Direct Mail, Social Media, SMS, Newsletters/Blogs, Competitions or Web Chat).

VSE will not pass your personal information to anyone outside our group, except to carefully selected third parties (e.g. professional advisers, finance providers, estate agents, recommended suppliers etc), for example where we need to send the information to persons or organisations who work on our behalf to provide a product or service to you but such persons or organisations may only use this information in order to provide such product or service and not for any other purpose.

Other reasons to share data with selected third parties are for the purpose of providing value-adding products, services and/or marketing information to you, and/or for our research purposes or to help us develop our website, products and/or services, in the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we may disclose your personal data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets or where we are required to forward the information in order to comply with a regulatory or legal process.

Providing VSE with your personal information through the Website (or any of the other marketing channels noted above) means you have granted your permission to VSE to use your personal data for such purposes, unless you notify us otherwise.

 

Security of your personal information

Only authorised personnel and contractors have access to your personal information. Additionally, VSE aim to keep your personal information secure by taking appropriate technical and organisational measures against its unauthorised or unlawful processing and against its accidental loss, destruction or damage.

VSE will keep your personal information until such time you contact us to request that it be removed or it is no longer required for archive purposes.

 

Rights of Access to your own personal information

VSE will aim to keep your personal information up to date, but rely on you telling us promptly if your name, address, telephone number or any other details change.

Under the Data Protection Act you have the right to request details of any personal data VSE may securely store about you (for which VSE may make a reasonable charge, normally £10.00 to cover administration cost).

Requests should be in writing, enclosing proof of identification (e.g. a copy of your passport or driving licence) or other documentation confirming your name and address (e.g. utility bill) and be addressed to:

Opting-out or changing your personal information that we hold

If you would like to stop receiving marketing information from us or to have any inaccuracies in your personal information updated, please write or email to the Customer Services Department at the relevant address above.

Often links to other websites are provided solely as pointers to information on topics that may be useful to the users of our Website. Limits on our responsibility to you

Commentary, information and other materials posted on the Website are not intended to constitute professional advice and should not be relied upon in this way.

As such, we cannot guarantee that the Website is or will be error free, free of viruses or other harmful components or that defects will be corrected.

As far as the law allows, we exclude all statements, terms and warranties that may be implied.

We will not, under any circumstances, be responsible for any losses you suffer as a result of using this Website that are not as a direct consequence of our behaviour and that we could not have been expected to foresee. In particular, we will not be responsible for losses related to any business (including profits), loss of data or loss of goodwill, whether these losses are direct, indirect, or for any indirect financial (or monetary) losses.

This does not affect our liability for death or personal injury arising from our negligence, our liability for fraudulent misrepresentation or misrepresentation as to a fundamental matter, or for any other liability which cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

Your statutory rights are not affected by anything in this Agreement.
